This website is all about Diss. It’s here for local people to share information about what’s going on, and to talk about those things in a polite, personable public forum.
Think of it as an electronic noticeboard for the town. Anyone can add something to the noticeboard, whether it’s an announcement of their own or a comment on something else they’ve seen here.
What you will find here
This website brings together content from other places on the web. It might be news articles, photos, video clips, or event details. At the moment all this stuff is scattered across many different websites; Diss HomePage brings it all together in one place.
If you think we’ve missed a good source of information, let us know. We’ll gladly include your suggestions if they’re relevant, and meet our policies for appropriate content. Our Terms of Use page has more details about the sort of content we’ll include and the sort that we’d rather avoid.
To make a suggestion, email us at feedback-diss@norfolkhomepage.org.uk.
If we’ve decided not to include a website you’ve suggested, and you’d like to appeal that decision, you can send email to: board-diss@norfolkhomepage.org.uk
Making comments
You can add comments to almost everything you see here. If you have an opinion, make it known!
When you add a comment, you’ll be asked to provide your email address. We won’t publish this on the site, though. It’s just so that we can get in touch with you if there’s a problem.
You’ll also see a checkbox that says: “Subscribe to comments on this post”. If you tick this box, we’ll automatically send you email every time someone adds a comment after yours. This is handy if there’s a lively conversation going on, and you want to keep an eye on it.
Remember this is a public place
Everything that happens here on Diss HomePage is public. That means that all your comments are public too. Use your common sense, and keep your comments friendly and welcoming.
Saying something here is like standing in the middle of Mere St on a busy Saturday morning and shouting at the top of your voice: everyone and anyone can hear you!
So please: keep your comments polite. It’s fine to voice your opinions, but you must respect other people’s opinions too, even if they are quite different to yours.
More about us
This website is provided by Norfolk County Council, and managed by staff from the local library service and a small team of volunteer moderators. Making a comment here is not a good way to contact the Council directly – if you want to do that, please go to the Council website.
